August 7 question – Do you use AI in your writing and if so how? Do you use it for your posts? Incorporate it into your stories? Use it for research? Audio?
GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!
I just thought we’d establish where I am, exactly, on the whole AI and creative work-thing, right up front.
This is often an emotional issue for all sides of the debate.
I’m convinced that our corporate overlords are only looking at one bottom line, and not the whole picture. (In the interests of full disclosure, I’m also halfway to believing that our corporate overlords are lizard people wearing meat sack disguises to cleverly forward their agenda of farming humans for agricultural purposes by subtly subverting the human psyche to make us unable to act, think or feel as we are shepherded into various herd management and slaughter pens, but I digress.)
I get that it’s easier to teach an AI to do creative things like art or write books or whatever, since programming a ‘bot to do things like laundry from start to finish or manage stairs while vacuuming is a lot harder, but some part of me absolutely rebels against the idea. The former idea, not the latter. I would love an AI that could keep up with the household chores.
What I really need is an AI that will do chores and marketing for me. Even if all they could come up with is an AI that could handle my marketing, that would be sexy.
All this being said, every once in a while, my eye notices “use AI for X–just click here!” and my finger itches.
