May 1 question – How do you deal with distractions when you are writing? Do they derail you?

I get distracted from a cleaning task by a DIFFERENT CLEANING TASK!!!

I’ve actually started downsizing my hobbies a bit because of my easy–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

Which is a little upsetting, since I want to be the person who DOES ALL THE THINGS. But as I approach 50, I’ve discovered that I have to budget myself– time, energy, kids, money, self-care–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

It’s a crushing revelation, to come to terms with this little thing called TIME, and how little left you probably have. Though I could also argue that I’m in denial, since I fritter it away like I’m 18–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

The knowledge that I MUST FOCUS on my goals, that dreams REQUIRE WORK to make them reality, seems to directly contradict something else in my head–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

Some deep and subconscious negative aspect that likes to believe failure is all that will happen–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

so a lesser failure (like not getting off my ass in the first place)–SQUIRREL!!!!!!!

is better than the greater failure (dumping time and money into something that will go nowhere, and achieve nothing except a brief following of trolls).
