I cannot promise how, where or when these words were used, if ever. I simply find them delightful, and want to share.
VASTIDITY
Vastness. Shakespeare, Measure for Measure
I can’t say this out loud unless I say it very slowly, carefully annunciating every syllable.
I think that’s why I actually don’t like this word that much. “Vastness” sounds . . Vast. Big. Unending.
“Vastidy” sounds short. Not vast.
Also a bit ridiculous, because If I don’t say it slow and ah-nun-cee-ait every syllable, it garbles a bit in my mouth and sounds like “vast-titty.”
I’m certain Shakespeare would find that amusing.
