Progress Report November 2026

We have discovered that a large portion of the problems I’m having formatting my manuscripts is because my laptop is old, and Scribus is apparently a memory hog.

Notice I said “a large portion of the problems.” The rest of the problems seem to be my ability to copy paste cut and format in a consistent manner. I’ve found whole paragraphs MISSING. The wrong words partially italicized. Random lines centered for no damn reason other than USER ERROR! I have gone through my manuscript FOUR TIMES now, and I’m still finding gross formatting mistakes!

I am quite displeased. The first book I formated went almost flawlessly. This one is being a pain in my ass.

Which is kinda funny, because this is the book I really care about. The romance novel I like, but not as much as this one.

I am still fussing with Ingram Spark about account details. Amazon and Draft to Digital have not been this difficult. I STILL have not been able to get the account set up the way IS want it. I’ve changed it 3 times after every deposit failure. I’m trying to fix it again.

Now is not an awesome time to deal with such things. But the laptop thing I can work around. I just cannot run anything other than libre office writer and Scribus at the same time.
