Wednesday Word November 2025: Snerdle

I cannot promise how, where or when these words were used, if ever. I simply find them delightful, and want to share.

SNERDLE

From the 18th century, meaning to wrap up beneath the covers to hold off the day a little longer.

Yes. This is perfectly normal behavior.

It is not at all a sign of fatigue, overwhelm, or mental distress or any kind.

But some people. . .

Some people are freaks. They just . . . get up, and do stuff. Without nagging or crying or procrastination or any of it. They just . . . bee-bop out of bed, rise and shine, get it done.

My husband used to be like that.

Then he got hit by a car.

Now he snerdles like a normal human being.
