August 2025 Progress Report

We are formatting the ms for the first fantasy novel. It’s a little easier the second time around, but the PDF formatting is still a booger.

I’ve learned from the formatting of the romance novel, to go through it for formatting marks and set it up for epub submission, then do the PDF formatting, because I always end up doing a few last minute tweaks and corrections that need to be the same in both the epub and the PDF. THEN submit the PDF to Amazon first, then everywhere else.

I thought I’d thought of a cool name for a different fantasy story about a professional mourner, but that title turns out to also be the title of a sexually explicit song. . . So I’m gonna have to ponder that a bit.

I have received my pretty certificate from the Library of Congress proving that A Special Blend of Crazy is officially copyrighted. It feels spiffy holding the official certificate, fancy heavy-weight paper and all.

Spreadsheets are still the bane of my existence at the moment. I understand the number goes here, and then I repeat the number over there, but I kinda feel like I’m mangling the whole sales tracking thing. When I get Richard Castle famous, I’m definitely hiring a bookkeeper.
