We are now working on the art for the fantasy series. Maps, cover art bits, things like that. I’ve started editing the manuscript for the first in the fantasy series for epub and pdf.
But what have we learned now that we are a PUBLISHED AUTHOR (buymybookASpecialBlwndofCrazybuymybook)?
We’ve learned that when you hold a physical copy of your own book in your hands, you feel extra special super special.
We’ve learned that the first sales you see on any dashboard that are not solicited by you, even if it is only 2 copies to Britain, makes you squeal with excitement.
We’ve learned that if you are at all stressed out or distracted by anything, registering for copyright is more than a little challenging. the system is eld, and there are a lot of loopholes -if/then -and/or, and no matter how many times you watch the government videos and read up on the how, and watch independent videos on youtube, if you are at all distracted (like, say, when a mild TBI has totally destroyed what little ability you had to focus), you will fuck shit up. And resubmission requires mo’ monies.
We’ve learned that, again, if things are not just so, Amazon will say, “yeah we’re publishing,” then not publish, but if your book is available through Ingram Spark, they’ll sell it that way, but Amazon won’t tell you they did that.
I’m not sure exactly what missed, but I fixed it, and I don’t know how.
I’m still coming to grips with the extra-long mental processing time things take for me 1 year post head-bonk. Things that I might’ve understood immediately 2 years ago, can take up.to a week to understand now. Which is difficult to accept.
