Of all the genres you read and write, which is your favorite to write in and why?

This is a tricky question. Anymore I generally read history or science or philosophy things. But I like to write fiction.

Lately, I’ve been hammering through a Romance Novel which isn’t my usual fare. I suppose that means it won’t be a terribly popular series, but these are the stories I need to write, for whatever reason. Romance 2 has a lot of my own personal anger towards slights and other things I’ve been suppressing for the last 20 years.  I think the Romance stuff is more therapeutic for me than anything (No, I do not know why.).

Usually, I run into the Fantasy realm. I can utilize all the history knowledge I’ve stored up and tweak things around for my story, while inserting tidbits of “No, really! This is how it really was, guys!” (Maybe I’m just showing off when I do that. I like to think I’m not, but there’s probably some of that in there.) That’s more my escapist mind, I think.

I have no idea what the Steampunk is. Maybe it’s a combination of the two.  I definitely feel some of the therapeutic stuff happening in there, and it is a bit escapist, but it feels more fun and goofy than anything, really.

I absolutely love romance and fantasy! I’ve only read a few steampunk, and never tried to write any. I think all writing is therapeutic regardless of genre. I look forward to reading more from you. Happy Writing!

    So–a steam-punk romance? I’m sure that’d be very popular.

We’ll see. It does what it wants to do, most of the time.

I can see romance being therapeutic. The passion, the anger, the release. Writing about things the way you wish they had happened, or are glad they didn’t. Love is a great inspiration!

I read romance for therapy, mostly stress relief when I read it! Good luck with it and hope it helps… http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
