Why Writing is Like a Relationship

a-z blog

Farting is something a lot of us don’t want to admit we do. It’s certainly not something we want to do in the beginning stages of a blooming relationship.

*gasp!* My partner might think I’m *holds the back of the wrist to the forehead* human.

But sooner or later,  it will happen. You will fart in proximity of your significant other. It will most likely be loud and funky, because – let’s face it – Murphy’s Law owns this one. And do you know what happens next?

Life goes on.

No, seriously. It does.

Sometimes when you write, it’s going to be a stinker. That’s no nicer way to put it. It happens, but it isn’t the end of the world. Sometimes what you thought might not be anything of negative consequence suddenly turns into this huge hoopla that everyone makes a big deal out of, like you intended to completely nail everyone at the table.

And while everyone else is going on about the horror of it all, you need to remember one thing:

They fart too.

That’s a good way of remembering that non one is perfect. 🙂

I always loved getting to the fart stage of a relationship because you were “settled in” – even if it WAS stinky!
